LEGISLATURE CONSIDERS HUGE TAX ON THE UNORGANIZED TERRITORY!
Monday, May 11, 6:30 p.m., State House-The Appropriations Committee of the Legislature is currently considering a motion put forth by Representative John Martin of Eagle Lake to increase the Unorganized Territory’s share of the Land Use Regulation Commission’s budget.
This is in addition to a recently discovered shortfall to the education portion of the U.T. budget of $1.9 million by the Taxation Committee.
Combined, the tax increase and education shortfall could result in a 69% increase in the total cost of the Land Use Regulation Commission for U.T. taxpayers.
We need you to take action in order to stop this increase from happening. PLEASE ACT QUICKLY.
Please call (207) 287-1316 and tell the Appropriations Committee to oppose John Martin’s proposal to increase the taxes of the Unorganized Territory.
